Texts we can't have

e-texts we hold

This section lists those e-texts that we hold that potentially may be able to be converted to e-books. In a small number of cases we will be unable to use it at the moment until the copyright runs out or we get a license from the copyright holder. In addition to this we often have multiple versions of the text from different editions and have a collection of other texts that have not been included here yet.

The purpose of this section is to allow you to check texts that you may be able to get, or books that you are considering converting to e-texts to make sure that we do not already have a copy. The section 'other identified texts', gives links to very many places including texts, many that are within the public domain, but also some in other collections that you can get to see, but we may not be able to use. You have therefore to watch carefully the copyright conditions, and these may vary from document to document.

When we start working on a text we will try to mark it up, and on publication we will hyperlink to the page on the book. We will not take off texts as we publish them so that this listing remains the single place to check.

At this time this listing is not quite complete in that we have several classes of document that are not yet in the database including UK Acts of Parliament, notes explaining the acts and similar documents, as well as a number of historic texts and books on belief systems and religions. We are still tidying this listing and know a few things are not as clear as they could be.

This section contains a large number of pages that have been generated from our computer system, it is in order by the author alphabetically. At the very front of the listing there are a number of items with no known author but you will also find alphabetic entries for anonymous and unknown, as well as bible and government, this sort of divides up this group with no author. The first page contains an index and all pages beyond the first allow you to get back to the first page, as well as the last, and move forward and back. In order to make pages load as fast as possible we have kept them very simple. The first page also has a button to return you to this page.

The easiest way to use the listing is to return to the first page and select another alphabetical name, if the name is likely to be near the end of a letter, then go to the next letter and page back.
