Information

This guide is organized in three sections, first  full listing of major past authors, this is followed by a listing of editors and translators, and the last page is an additional list of other authors we have identified. If we are unsure about a persons role we have added them to the second shorter list.

Where possible we have shown other names or pseudonym the author is known under, and identified likewise the real name of those who used pseudonyms.

This is and will always be an incomplete project. However if you can add any more information, or can point out any errors we would be grateful. Let us know by email at 'authorindex @ worldwide-library.org' (no spaces). Please remember that there can be more than one person with the same name, so the person you have identified may be an additional person, and that not every source has the information correct, so we may be correct or your source, but let us know anyway.

Who is included, clearly not everyone who has ever written a book, that would be an extremely long list. We have erred in favor of adding rather than leaving out authors, if they died before the second world war 1939-45, and included very few surviving after this time.

AKA: = means also known as.
