Other identified texts - Introduction

Our objective within this section is to identify as many places as we can that have e-texts or ebooks online and to identify where we can those that are public domain versions that we are able to use.

You will see we have gone a little over the top on this section, and have a very wide range of sites identified, working on the assumption that is is better to list a few more than to be a few short. A lot you will find have used text from the same sources, so although we have very many resources now, the coverage is not as wide as it first appears.

Conceptually the portals would be the simplest way to find information across the resources, but not all are included in them. If you cannot find the item you are looking for, then you should try various search engines. All the listings here and all the search engines together would not cover all that is available, so its then down to a detective game, finding sites covering similar topics and looking through their link lists until you find the link you want.

Added to the problem, the internet is not static, and often we find a useful source only to find later that the person running it looses interest and it goes offline. For this reason text that we can get hold of are better in our e-text library, even before we are ready to make the ebook, than just being a link that may be lost.
